2008 Garbage and Recycling Schedule

Dear Woodbury Residents:

Please take the time to carefully read all the following information, as there have been changes made to both Recycling and Bulk pick up.

Garbage Schedule

GARBAGE pick up will remain the same as it was.

The West side of Route 32 (same side as Mario’s Restaurant and Highland Mills Fire House) will be picked up on Tuesdays. The East side of Route 32 (same side as Jays Deli and The Police Station) will be picked up on Thursdays. Any items not in a Toter given by the Town will not be picked up. Anybody requiring more than two 95 Gal toters will be charged $100.00 per year, for each additional Toter. Put garbage to the curb the night before your scheduled pick up. Containers must be kept off the road at all times. No Holiday will affect the Garbage schedule until Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years. Garbage will be delayed two days. There will be a two day delay on these holidays only for the Thursday pick-up. Harriman will follow the East Side.

Bulk Schedule

BULK pick up will now be on the LAST SATURDAY OF EACH MONTH for the entire Town. A total of 3 cubic yards will be allowable on this day. Anyone with more than this amount will have to make private arrangements for the removal. Put bulk items out only on the day before the scheduled pick up Large appliances will be allowable A licensed HVAC Technician must remove the Free-on from A/C’s and Refrigerators. A sticker from the technician is required before removal. Construction & Demolition, as always, are not allowable. Bulk must be kept off the road at all times.

Recycling Schedules

ALL RECYCLING is picked up on the same day. That means both PAPER/CARDBOARD and BOTTLES AND CANS will go out together (in separate containers, of course). Please do not use the Town-supplied Toters for any recycling. Paper recyclables can be put loose in a regular garbage can, or brown paper lawn bags — clearly marked PAPER RECYCLABLES. Do not use plastic bags for paper recycling. Newspapers can be tied in a bundle and left at the curb. Bottles/Cans/Plastics can be co-mingled and placed in a securely fastened container. DO NOT use any plastic bags. Recycling must be kept off the road at all times. No Holiday will affect the recycling schedule, until Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years.
