Orange County Approved “Single Stream Recycling”
What does this mean? No more sorting!
Effective immediately! Bottles, plastics, cans, paper and cardboard can all be placed in the same container. The carting company is permitted to use one truck for all recyclables.
Recyclables are to be placed directly into the container, and after January 1, 2011, use the Recycling Tote that will be delivered to you. Do not use any plastic or paper bags when filling your container or Tote.
The schedule for recycling will remain the same as always. Every Wednesday for all residents in the Refuse District.
Starting on January 1, 2011, garage and recyclingt pick-up will be automated. For those of you who may not know what that is, please read carefully.
The new Carters will have a vehicle that has an extendable, robotic arm that will pick up garbage and recycling containers. These containers (known as TOTES) will be delivered to each family in the Refuse District. Keep all containers at curbside, not in the road, and remove them the same day. Delivery of all Totes will begin on Monday December 20, 2010. Do not use these Totes until after January 1, 2011.
Please take note of the 2011 Garbage and Recycling Schedule as described below.
